The Process
It’s all about having fun with colour and texture, building confidence and freedom in your creativity. A fantastic class for beginners and artists alike. You are encouraged to be completely relaxed with your use of paint, ripping apart your first quickly painted sheet and using a combination of collage, mark making and painting to create this unqiue abstract and highly attractive finish.
The Workshop
This workshop is all about having fun and loosing any creative inhibitions. You’ll begin by very quickly filling a sheet of art paper with colours and shapes which can be used in your final piece. This will encourage you to be free with your brush strokes and forget about worrying about all the details. There will be masses of pictures to spark your interest and inspire you. Susie’s encouraging expertise will guide through the process you so you’ll leave with a feeling of enormous pride and a painting that you’ll be astonished by.
A typical Abstract Painting Workshop includes:
Welcome and workshop introduction
Painting & collage demo from Susie using images of the Cornish coast as inspiration
As a group create a painting using the techniques demonstrated with one-on-one guidance on mark making, use of collage applying paints and using colour
Pick your own seascape to emulate from a huge selection of images
Susie is on hand throughout with gentle guidance
Go home with at least two paintings
Tea, coffee and cakes will be served throughout to you can concentrate on immersing yourself in this fun creative process.
All materials are included in the price
You can take your work home with you at the end of the session.
Minimum age is 14, minimum class size is 6 people.
If the minimum number is not enrolled we reserve the right to postpone the course.
